An Edison man has passed away after the motorcycle he was operating was struck in Piscataway early Wednesday morning.

The motorcycle accident occurred around 7 a.m. near South Washington Avenue. The 49-year-old motorcyclist was traveling through an intersection when he was hit by an oncoming motor vehicle. The motor vehicle was being driven by a 59-year-old man from Dunellen.

The driver of the car was uninjured in the accident but the motorcyclist was killed at the scene. Police are still investigating the events that led to this fatal accident but believe that both individuals had green light signals at the time of the collision.
