Woman sentenced after stealing from Social Security

Posted on Wednesday, November 17th, 2010 at 7:38 am

A woman from Hardy has been sentenced to serve five years probation after it was found that she was stealing Social Security disability payments that were meant for her son.

A federal judge also sentenced the 32-year-old woman to pay $16,046 in restitution. The woman also failed to report that her husband was living in the home which would have changed their eligibility for benefits. She had previously admitted to making false statements when relating to healthcare matters.

Social Security disability theft takes away money from people who really can not make a living without benefits. If you or a loved one has been injured and can no longer work, contact the New Jersey social security disability lawyers of Levinson and Axelrod by calling 800-346-5529 today.
